If the Sib First documentation has a "quick tour" tutorial similar to the full program, it's a good idea to work through it to find out about the basics. > I wish that that command was easier to find in the Sibelius help document Why would you want to hide something without deleting it? Well, you just had an example of that, with your triplet :-) You might also want to hide metronome marks that are used to improve the computer playback but are not meant for human players to read, etc. But if you change the clef or key signature in the middle of your score (assuming you an do those things in Sib 5 - I don't have it), the clef change IS an object you can delete, just the same as a note, a piece of text, etc. For some things that doesn't make much sense - for example the clefs and key signatures at the start of each staff are not separate objects you can delete, because Sibelius "knows" it's supposed to draw them as required. Essentially Sibelius (was Sibelius First) is a very very cut down version of Sibelius Ultimate (was Sibelius 8) which is great for very basic composing, etc, however 99 of the time Sibelius (was Sibelius First) is too limited and thus most will prefer Sibelius Ultimate - Sibelius Ultimate also has time saving features that could save you hours. Deleting something means literally removing it object from the score. Sibelius 3 also cannot correctly read percussion staves or scores containing more than 2 voices. Sibelius 3 cannot open files saved to disc by PhotoScore 4 (with the. ![]() "Delete" and "Hide" are different concepts. Sibelius 3 won't open my PhotoScore 4 files - what should I do You need to used the 'Send to Sibelius' feature in PhotoScore to transfer files over to Sibelius 3. > I don't understand why some things can be clicked on & then disappear when you click "delete" and some don't, Oops, everybody went down the same track of trying to reformat the triplet (as you can do in the full Sibelius) rather than just hiding it. Most questions on this page are for full Sibelius, so a lot of the answers you would get will not apply for First. It was very helpful that you stated that you are using First, though most people seems to have missed that fact. ![]() I fear that customization of tuplets is one of the features removed from Sib to create Sib First. There is no menu item for them at all (you use ctrl/cmnd-n to create them), and First does not have the property window. Sibelius First does not allow you to change the format of tuplets, I'm afraid. once ive entered a triplet, how do i hide the triplet number & bracket i did it a long time ago with 16ths, & i thought i could copy & paste the 16ths, then change them to 8ths, but that didnt work as it changed them into one 8th & three 16ths (it added a 16th note on its own).
